Singapore Airlines
Transfer of Shenzhen and Surabaya routes from Singapore Airlines to
Silkair
With effect from 30 October 2005, SilkAir (MI) will take over from
Singapore Airlines for the operation of services between Singapore
and Shenzhen, and between Singapore and Surabaya.
Affected passengers travelling to Surabaya have been re-accommodated
on MI flights. Re-accommodation for affected passengers to Shenzhen
to MI flights is currently in progress.

New flights to Hyderabad
From 30 October 2005, Singapore Airlines starts its four times weekly
direct service to Hyderabad, Indias fifth largest metropolis and
capital of the state of Andhra Pradesh. The flight schedule is as

Maximum checked baggage limit
With effect from 1 November 2005, the maximum checked baggage weight
limit of 32kg per piece will also be applicable to passengers travelling
to/ from United Arab Emirates.

Revision of First and Business Class ticketing time limit
Singapore Airlines has made booking system adjustments to facilitate
seat confirmation for First and Business Class passengers who book
early. Concurrently, they have reviewed their Ticketing Time Limit
(TTL) for these bookings. The new TTL is now 30 days before departure
for First and Business Class bookings that are made 60 days or more
before departure. Kindly refer to the following table:

Electronic ticketing destinations
update

|
SIA passengers can now travel ticketless to Jeddah and Bandar Seri
Begawan. Paper tickets issued for travel to these 2 cities will now
be subjected to a surcharge of S$30 per ticket as per current practice.
With these 2 additions, SIA will have a total of 52 destinations that
accept ticketless travel.
Cathay Pacific
From 15 Oct 2005, Cathay Pacific will extend its electronic ticketing
to flights to and from Adelaide. This will bring the total number
of CX electronic ticketing destinations to 38.
By 15 Oct 2005, CX's ET will apply to Singapore, Sydney, Melbourne,
London, Auckland, Seoul, Taipei,Vancouver, Los Angeles, Bangkok, Manila,
Cebu, Mumbai, Dubai, Toronto, Fukuoka, Nagoya, Tokyo,Osaka, Frankfurt,
Jakarta, Denpasar, Surabaya, New York, Kuala Lumpur, Penang, San Francisco,Rome,
Amsterdam, Brisbane, Cairns, Perth, Johannesburg, Delhi, Sapporo,
Paris, Karachi and Adelaide.

Singapore Airlines fuel surcharge update
Singapore Airlines has revised its fuel surcharges on passenger tickets
sold in Singapore. In summary, the following fuel surcharges applies
for tickets sold and issued on/after 7 October 2005:
1. US$11.70 per sector for travel between SIN and Hong Kong.
2. US$15 per sector for travel between SIN and Taipei.
3. US$15 per sector for travel between SIN and South East Asian
destinations of Bandar Seri Begawan, Bangkok,
Manila, Penang, Kuala Lumpur, Denpasar, Jakarta, Surabaya, Ho Chi
Minh City, Hanoi and code-share flights with
MI flights on SQ5000 flight series.
US$15 per sector for travel on other
SQ code-share flights within Intra Europe, Germany Domestic, UK
Domestic, New Zealand Domestic and Vancouver San Francisco vice
versa.
4. US$32 per sector for travel between SIN and Japan.
US$32 per sector for travel between
Bangkok and Japan.
5. US$45 per sector for travel between Los Angeles and Japan.
6. US$45.30 per sector for travel between Hong Kong and San
Francisco.
7. US$50 per sector for all SQ sectors unless otherwise stated.
United Airlines increase in fuel surcharge for transpacific flights
United Airlines has increased its fuel surcharge for transpacific
flights to US$65 each way for any tickets issued on/after 13 October
2005. The new surcharge amount is applicable for all UA published
or net fares.
Northwest Airlines fuel surcharge update
Effective 13 October 2005, the fuel surcharge for segments between
Singapore and the US was increased to US$65 each way. The fuel surcharge
remains unchanged for travel betweenSingapore and Asia, Japan and
Canada.

New Asia Miles partner - Air China
Starting 28 October 2005, Asia Miles members will be able to earn
and redeem Asia Miles on Air China, the latest partner. This brings
the total number of airline partners to 18.
Based in Beijing, Air China has an extensive international and domestic
network. Major cities in China include: Chengdu, Hangzhou, Chongqing,
Tianjin and Inner Mongolia.
With this latest addition, Asia Miles members can now earn and redeem
to over 900 destinations worldwide.To celebrate this new partnership,
Asia Miles members flying selected routes on Air China between 28
October and 15 December will earn double Asia Miles. Details of the

Travel Documentation/Immigration
Requirements

Destination address requirement for passengers travelling to the
United States of America
With immediate effect, the United States Government will require all
passengers travelling to the US to provide details of their address
whilst in the US. This information must be provided either at the
point of reservation or conveyed to the check-in staff at Singapore
Changi Airport during check-in.
The following address details are required:
Hotel name
Number and street name
City
State
Zip code
Passengers are required to complete and submit forms to the ground
staff at check-in prior to departure. US citizens, Legal Permanent
Residents (LPRs) and transit passengers* are exempted from this
requirement. However LPRs must provide their Alien Registration
Number.
Transit passengers* must provide the name of their non-US destination,
the carrier/vessel name and number. If passengers are joining a
ship, they must provide the name of the US city of embarkation,
the vessel and cruise name.
* Transit passengers are defined as those who transfer through
the US for the purpose of continuing their journey to a third country,
where the time period between arrival and departure from the US
does not exceed 8 hours.

Issuance of Biometric Passports
|
|
Singapore Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) has delayed
the issuance of Biometric Passports to the second half of next year.
