The 6th Ministerial Conference Of World Trade Organisation In Hong
Kong: 13 To 18 December 2005
The Sixth Ministerial Conference (MC6) of the World Trade Organisation
(WTO) will be held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre
in Wanchai between 13 and 18 December 2005. Should you be engaged
in any business or personal trips during the period, you are strongly
advised to read and be prepared for the following precautions, in
order to minimise inconveniences and avoid any last minute problems
caused by the special security and traffic arrangement for the event:
Always allow sufficient time to cater for unexpected delays in travelling
during the conference period.
Avoid going to the vicinity of the HKCEC unless it is essential.
Avoid using the Cross Harbor Tunnel. During the conference period,
the Eastern and Western Harbor Crossings will charge lower tolls.
Use public transport where possible.
Watch out for media announcements and news broadcasts on latest
traffic arrangements and conditions.

1. Hong
Kong Ministerial Conference disseminate the latest news of the
event and any ad hoc adjustments from the Hong Kong Government.
2. The
Transport Department provides information on any ad hoc traffic

Air Fares/Air Tickets
Fare Revision From Singapore To USA Via Pacific And Atlantic Routes
With effect from 1 December 2005, there has been a 5% increase for
published (unrestricted) fares from Singapore to USA for the following
fare bases:
First Class - F, F1, F2 and FR
Business Class - C, C1, C2, FR, CEWR and CREWR
Economy Class - Y, Y1, YR, YWER and YREWR
Air tickets issued on/after 1 December 2005 for travel period on/after
1 January 2006 will be priced at the revised fares.
Administrative Fee For Refund Of Air Tickets, Taxes And Surcharges
With effect from 1 January 2006, Singapore Airlines will levy an administrative
fee of S$75 for the following types of tickets:
Totally unused tickets (as per current)
Partially used tickets
Non-refundable tickets (refund of taxes and surcharges)

Frequent Flyer Programmes
Royal Jordanian Airlines is to join oneworld Airline Alliance around
the turn of 2006-2007. It is the first airline from the Levant, Middle
East and Gulf region to be elected to any of the global airline groupings
and the first airline accepted to join oneworld in more than five
years.
The current member airlines of oneworld alliance are: Aer Lingus,
American Airlines, British Airways, Cathay Pacific Airways, Finnair,
Iberia, Lan Airlines and Qantas Airways.

Embassy Closure
The Embassy of Japan will be closed from 29 December 2005 to 3 January
2006.
Baggage
Cathay Pacific Airways reminds travellers that the maximum acceptable
weight of any single piece of checked baggage will be 32kg (70lb)
in order to maintain safety standards for baggage handlers.
According to industry health and safety guidelines, 32kg (70lb) is
the reasonable weight limit to protect baggage handlers from occupational
injuries.
With the implementation of Cathay Pacifics policy since 1 April 2004,
any passenger with a piece of check-in baggage exceeding the limit
will be asked to repack in separate bags in order to meet the limit.
The policy applies on all flights.
In-flight Service
Northwest Airlines has expanded their in-flight entertainment on international
flights. Customers flying on select international flights will now
be able to enjoy a wider variety of audio and video programming, featuring:
10 recent Hollywood Hits
20 Fox modern classic and classic movies
10 Disney animated features or movies
More music selections than ever with over 40 additional CDs
Six games, including Solitaire, Reversi and Inflight
Trivia Challenge
In addition, the in-flight state-of-the-art audio and video on demand
(AVOD) entertainment system allows each individual passenger to start,
pause, rewind and fast forward their movie selection at their convenience.
The expanded programming is available in World Business Class(SM)
and Economy Class aboard Northwest's A330 fleet and in World Business
Class cabins of their Boeing 747-400 fleet.
